Open Question: Car dolly or carrier? ?

I'm moving from FL to Delaware, about 1000 miles. I used a car carrier when I moved here and it was a nightmare. It's very difficult to manuver and the gas cost goes without saying. I'm thinking about going the car dolly route this time as its $130 cheaper and much lighter, making the gas costs lower.
